Iranian Film Festival 2017 in Singapore is set to screen ifilm recently run ‘Bodyguard’ at the National University of the country.
The flick directed by Prominent Iranian filmmaker Ebrahim Hatamikia will be shown on Friday.
‘Bodyguard’ depicts idealism in the new era. It narrates the story of a middle-aged man protecting high-profile political figures.
Starring Parviz Parastoui, Merila Zarei and Babak Hamidian, the movie won two Simorgh awards at the 34th edition of the Fajr Film Festival; namely, the Best Actor in a Leading Role and the Best Visual Effects.
Meanwhile, Iran Oscar-winning ‘The Salesman’ by Asghar Farhadi will go on screen Saturday.
The Middle East Institute attached to the National University of Singapore is the organizer of this year’s Iranian Film Festival.
“Gaining more recognition in recent years, Iranian films are rich, diverse, and have contributed significantly to the international film industry,” the event’s website wrote, adding, “With the support of the Cultural Centre of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, we hope to bring you a step closer to appreciating Iran’s nuanced cinematic experience.”
